I have not blogged in over a month. I’ve been working hard on the next issue of MyKaiju Magazine. I finally finished it and sent for the test print last week. It should arrive on Friday. I’m stoked to see it. Upon final revisions and approval, issue two will go on sale over the coming weekend. This issue is packed and has a surprise and twist. The page size has more than doubled. I hope readers will enjoy it. With that said, I’ve had some good box days since. The best of all was my haul from Japan. Here’s a portion of it. Other items I will blog about later.
My friend Ed Holland of Monster Attack Team snagged the first box of the radio controlled Godzilla that had a limited release as a test trail. During the trip I loaded up on stuff from the Godzilla Store, such as clear files, a t-shirt, note books, a 65th Anniversary bag, keychains, magnets and more. I couldn’t leave the Lucky Dragon No. 5 with out two special books that I will discuss in detail later. My bags were tight filled with good stuff.
I can’t recommend buying Godzilla Books enough. This is the best time to get books especially older books. I can’t get enough of them! I just picked up the classic The History of Toho Special Effects (below) and the wonderful little Toho Monster Movie Series 2 Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (above) from Mandarake. The charm and character and odor of these books takes me back to the late 70s and early 80s.
