A Wonder Fes Gift

Summer Wonderful Fes 2023 has come and gone. And as always it never disappoints. It was well attended with special appearances by Godzilla Minus One Director Takashi Yamazaki, Shin Godzilla Director Shinji Higuchi and Monster Maker Shinichi Wakasa. There are so much on display and so many new announcements that it is impossible to report them all. X-Plus delivers again with an amazing display celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Daikaiju Series. Right around the corner on display was the X-Plus Yuji Sakai Modeling Collection Godzilla (1954) Soft Vinyl Assembly Kit.

Since airing on Godzilla Store TV last week, my box art for this model kit has been well received on social media. Thanks to those who have made comments and posted their purchases. It’s so exciting to see.

And when I thought things couldn’t get better, last night I received this awesome message of photos and video from my friend and colleague Jeremy Soles of X-Plus and Summit Kaiju International. Master Yuji Sakai autographed his Godzilla (1954) model kit box for me.

I’m blown away and humbled. I’m full of deep gratitude and appreciation. Thank you X-Plus for this wonderful gift. This is a dream realized beyond my imagination. It’s been the greatest honor to create box art for Master Yuji Sakai. My deepest and sincere thanks to Master Yuji Sakai, Akihiko “Gee” Okamoto-san, Matsubara-san, and Jeremy for making this happen.
