Yoshio Irie

2013年に物故した入江義夫氏は、東宝特撮の美術デザイナーとして、 井上泰幸氏と共にリアルで密度の高い都市のセットを作り出し、また模 型製作を得意として数々の兵器ミニチュア製作をリードした。 生前のイ ンタビューから、ロケハン、ミニチュア作り、仕掛けなど 『ゴジラ』 当 時の特殊美術について抜粋し構成した。

Yoshio Irie, who died in 2013, worked with Yasuyuki Inoue as an art designer for Toho special effects to create a realistic and dense urban sets, and also led the production of numerous weapon miniatures, specializing in model production. From his life’s interview, he excerpted and composed the special art at the time of “Godzilla” such as location scouting, miniature making, and gimmicks.
