ゴジラスーツの頭部三面のディティール。サイボット・ゴジラを除いてメインのスーツ自体も海用・陸用の2体が作られた。

Details of the three sides of the Godzilla suit’s head. With the exception of Cybot and Godzilla, two main suits were made, one for sea and one for land.

マケットの検討を経て、等身大スーツの制作が始まる。全身の粘土原型を起こし、凹型を取って成型する手法が採られている。同じ手法で巨大なサイボットの粘土型も作られたが、それはマケットを基準に統一感を出すのが狙いだった。

After examining the maquette, production of the life-sized suit begins. The method used is to create a clay prototype of the whole body, then take a concave shape and mold it. A clay mold of a giant Cybot was also made using the same method, but the aim was to create a sense of unity based on the maquette.

ゴジラスーツの頭頂部がわかる珍しいショット。この大胆なディティールを見よ! これは主に陸用と区別される、2番目に完成したタイプ。ゴジラの体色は比較的明るいグレーで仕上げられている。サイボットほどではないが、頭部には表情ギミックが搭載されて効果をあげた。

A rare shot that shows the top of Godzilla’s suit. Look at this bold detail! This is the second completed type, mainly distinguished from land use. Godzilla’s body color is finished in a relatively light gray. Although not as effective as Cybot, the facial expression gimmick mounted on its head was effective.
