Since its first appearance in 1954, “Godzilla” has continued to fascinate not only Japan but all over the world. Introducing the broadcast of the series along with interviews with Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe who appear in the latest work!

戦後を生き抜く女性をリアルに演じたいと思いました。

I wanted to realistically portray a woman who survives the post-war era.

The movie “Silent Love” is scheduled to be released in January 2024

Born May 19, 1993 in Saitama Prefecture.
His recent appearances include the NHK TV drama series “Ranman,”the movie “Suzume no Door Shumari” (voice role/2022), and “Daimyo Bankruptcy” (2023).

70周年の記念作品であり、日本で製作された実写版30作目となるシリーズの最新作「ゴジラ-1.0」。戦後が舞台の本作で、神木隆之介と浜辺美波は、NHK連続テレビ小説「らんまん」に続いて、息の合ったところを見せている。

Godzilla-1.0 is the latest work in the series, commemorating the 70th anniversary and the 30th live-action version produced in Japan. In this work, which is set in the post-war period, Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe work well together, following on from the NHK TV drama series “Ranman.”

神木「出演のオファーも撮影も、“ゴジラ”の方が先でしたね。一緒にお芝居をする時間が延長されたような感じでした」

Kamiki: “Godzilla”came first when I was offered the role and filmed it. It felt like we had more time to act together.

浜辺「本作の山崎貴監督とは、私は’19年の『アルキメデスの大戦」に続いてのお仕事だったのですが、当時は新人だったので、後悔することも多くて。“ゴジラ”で、そのリベンジをしたいという想いもありました」

Hamabe: I worked with Takashi Yamazaki, the director of this film, after working on “The Great War of Archimedes” in 2019, but since I was a newcomer at the time, I had many regrets. I also wanted to take revenge for that with “Godzilla.”

神木「僕もある意味リベンジかも。実は山崎監督の『ALWAYS三丁目の夕日」のオーディションで最終まで残ったんですけど、選ばれたのは須賀健太くんで」

Kamiki: “Maybe I’m getting revenge in a sense. Actually, I made it to the final stage of the audition for Director Yamazaki’s ‘ALWAYS Sunset on 3rd Street,’ but Kenta Suga was chosen.”

浜辺「え、そうなんですね!」

Hamabe: “Oh, that’s right!”

神木「監督にその話をしたら、『そうだったね」って言ってくれて。20年近く前のことを覚えていてくれたのは嬉しかった」

Kamiki: “When I told the director about it, he said, ‘That’s right.’ I’m glad you remembered what happened nearly 20 years ago.”

神木が本作で演じたのは、戦場から生還した元日本兵の敷島浩一。浜辺が命を吹き込んだのそんな彼が出会う、戦争で両親を失いながらも必死に生きるヒロイン・大石典子だ。

In this work, Kamiki plays Koichi Shikishima, a former Japanese soldier who survived the battlefield. He meets Noriko Oishi, a heroine who lives desperately despite losing her parents in the war.

神木「台本を読んだ時から、体験したことのない運命を背負うことになる、とても覚悟のいる役だとは思いました」

Kamiki: “From the moment I read the script, I knew it was a role that would require a lot of determination as I would be shouldering a fate I had never experienced before.”

浜辺「たしかにそうですね」

Hamabe: “That’s certainly true.”

神木「ゴジラはフィクションだけど、戦争を体験した人たちの想いや傷はフィクションじゃない。混在するその2つを行き来しながら、自分を追い込んでいくのが難しかったです」

Kamiki: “Godzilla is fiction, but the feelings and scars of those who experienced war are not fiction. It was difficult to push myself back and forth between the two.”

浜辺「私は戦後を生き抜く女性を、リアルに演じたいと思っていました。でもグリーンバック(CGを合成する背景)での撮影が多かったり、体験したことのないことが詰め込まれていたので、戸惑ってばかりでした」

Hamabe: “I wanted to play a realistic role of a woman who survives the war. However, there was a lot of shooting on a green screen (background for CG composition), and there was a lot of things I had never experienced before, so… I was just confused.”

神木「現場にいる子役ちゃんが泣かないように、スタッフさんがアンパンマンのぬいぐるみを持って後ろで踊っていたりもしたよね(笑)」

Kamiki: “In order to keep the child actors on set from crying, the staff members even held Anpanman stuffed animals and danced behind them (lol).”

浜辺「お芝居をしているとどうしてもアンパンマンが目に入るので、一瞬どうしようかと(笑)」

Hamabe: “When I was performing, I couldn’t help but see Anpanman, so for a moment I was wondering what to do (lol)”

神木「アンパンマンの方を向いてお芝居していたの僕だから!」

Kamiki: “I was acting while facing Anpanman!”

浜辺「でも、そのアンパンマンを見ている子役ちゃんはこちら向きでしたよ(笑)。周りの状況に惑わされない集中力が大事だとあらためて思いましたし、鍛えられました」

Hamabe: “However, the child actor who was watching Anpanman was more suited to me (lol). I realized once again that it is important to have the ability to concentrate and not be distracted by the circumstances around me, and I was able to improve my ability to concentrate.”

神木「僕はバイクの運転も大変でした。乗ったことがない上に、クラッチのある古いタイプのバイクだったんです。それで狭いガタガタ道を激走しながら、エキストラの方々ともすれ違うので、めちゃくちゃ怖かった」

Kamiki: “Driving a motorcycle was also difficult for me. I had never ridden one before, and it was an old type of motorcycle with a clutch. I was driving fast on the narrow, rickety road, passing the extras, and it was really scary.”

浜辺「私もアクションシーンは怖かったです。身体能力を必要としない一般女性の役だったので、火事場の馬鹿力でなんとか乗り切れましたが、未だに正解が分かっていないです」

Hamabe: “The action scenes were scary for me too. I played the role of an ordinary woman who didn’t need any physical ability, so I managed to get through it with my stupid strength, but I still don’t know the correct answer.”

神木「これを機に“浜辺美波は本格アクションに挑戦!”って書いてもらったらどう? (笑)」

Kamiki: “Why don’t you use this as an opportunity to write something like, “Minami Hamabe takes on a full-scale action role!” (lol)

浜辺「それは厳しいです･･･!」

Hamabe: “That’s tough…!”
