企画 脚本 絵コンテ —> デザイン画 —> ぬいぐるみ造型と, さまざまなステップをふまえて、撮映にゴーサインが出る。サインを出すのは、映画製作会社のトップの判断。トップとは大プロデューサーのことである。映画を「商品」としか考えない人間は,無用の長物だ。

Planning Screenplay Storyboard —> Design Drawing —> Based on various steps such as stuffed toy modeling, a go-ahead appears in the shooting. It is the decision of the top of the movie production company to give the sign. The top is a big producer. A person who thinks of a movie only as a “product” is useless.

▶︎「大怪獣バラン」より。監督と役者をまじえた本(シナリオ)読み風景。監督は演技者の実力をじゅぶんに引き出すため、積極的に発言する。

From “Large Monster Varan.” A reading scene of a book (scenario) that includes a director and an actor. The director speaks positively in order to bring out the full potential of the performer.

「よっしゃ!」てなわけで、 特美はさっそくミニチュア作りに専念する。「ゴジラ」より、人物は渡辺明。

“Got it,” special effects concentrates on making miniatures. From “Godzilla,” the person is Akira Watanabe.

▲「ゴジラの息子」より。クランクイン前に全スタッフが、人身事故のないようおはらいをつける。迷信などではなく、人命尊重の精神から生まれた信念だろう。

From “Son of Godzilla.” Before “cranking in” (start of filming), all staff will be careful to prevent personal injury. It is a belief born from the spirit of respect for human life, not superstition.

◀︎「ゴジラの息子」より。ゴジラのむすこミミニラの命名式だ。ミニラの名まえは、全国の映画ファンから公募されたもの。

From “Son of Godzilla.” It is the naming ceremony of Godzilla’s boy Minilla. The name of Minilla was solicited from movie fans nationwide.

▲本編では、衣装デザインが決定すると, 監督立ち会いのもとに衣装合わせがおこなわれる。水野久美もたぶん怪獣が好きなんだろうな。

In the main story, once the costume design is decided, the costumes will be matched in the presence of the director. Kumi Mizuno probably likes monsters too.
