Nakajima at Godzilla 1964 Event

撮影用のスーツが観客の前に登場した、有名なイベントである。池袋駅に直結する西武デパートで1964年11月1日の一日のみ開催された。このイベントの注目するポイントは、撮影のさなかに撮影用のスーツで中島春雄氏が自ら演じた、という点である。

This is a famous event where photo suits appeared in front of the audience. It was held for one day only on November 1, 1964 at the Seibu Department Store, which is directly connected to Ikebukuro Station. The noteworthy point of this event is that Haruo Nakajima himself acted in a photo shoot suit during the filming.

▲ 黒山の人だかりの中でポーズをとっている中島春雄演じるゴジラ。11月1日は本格的な撮影開始から10日ほど経った頃であり、前作のスーツが改造され、あまり傷んでいない状態であることがわかる。このイベントではラジオコントロールで目と口も可動し、「リモコンランド」で走る列車や車を襲うといった演技に観客は大喜びであった
