本作最大の話題は、全高4.8mにおよぶコンピュータ制御ロボット“サイボットゴジラ”だった。従来の人が入る縫いぐるみでは表現しきれなかった表情や巨大感を表現し、1億500万円もの巨費をかけたことが宣伝にも大いに役立った。“サイボット”とは、サイバネティックスとロボットを合わせた造語で、(株)みづのの商標である。

The 105 million yen investment was a great help in promoting the product, which expressed an expression and a sense of size that could not be expressed with conventional stuffed animals. “Cybot” is a coined word combining the words “cybernetics” and “robot,” and is a trademark of Mizuno Co., Ltd.

▲ サイボットゴジラ最大の功績は、弾着シーンて煙が小さく見えることだった。ゴジラとの相乗効果で、巨大感が高まった。また、陰影感も効果絶大だった。
