Monster Land [aka Monster Island]

20世紀おわり、世界の脅威だった怪獣たちを研究するために小笠原諸島に建設された施設。周辺にはそれぞれの怪獣の本能や習性に応じて科学的な壁が設けられていて、怪獣が区域外に出ようとすると管制装置が作動する。近海域は一大海洋牧場としてあらゆる魚類を養殖、豊富な食べ物を怪獣たちは自由に捕食することが可能だ。

A facility built in the Ogasawara Islands at the end of the 20th century to study monsters that threatened the world. A scientific wall is set up around it according to the instincts and habits of each monster, and when a monster tries to leave the area, a control device is activated. The nearby sea area is a large marine ranch where all kinds of fish can be cultivated, and monsters can freely prey on the abundant food.

小笠原諸島には小さな島が点在していて、怪獣たちは通常はそれぞれの島に分散して飼われていると思われる。少しずつ慣らして、いずれ全怪獣を共存されるのだ。

The Ogasawara Islands are dotted with small islands, and it is believed that monsters are usually kept separately on each island. Little by little, you’ll get used to it, and eventually all the monsters will coexist.

島の地下深くにコントロールセンターは建造されていて、自己点検回路によって自動的に管理されている。怪獣たちは時どき、ここに集められているようだ。

A control center has been built deep underground on the island, automatically controlled by a self-checking circuit. The monsters seem to gather here from time to time.

小さな島周辺の広大な海域がマンダの住み家だ。

Manda’s home is the vast expanse of water around a small island.
