映画では、全長4.5mのサイボット、普通の着ぐるみそして小型のミニチュアと、いろいろと使いわけて上手に撮影されていた。しかし、良く見るとそれぞれが多少デザイン的に異っており、見別けるのは、そう困難ではなかろう。

In the movie, a Cybot with a total length of 4.5m, a normal costume, and a small miniature were used and filmed as well. However, if you look closely, they are slightly different in terms of design, and it is not so difficult to distinguish them.

84年1月号でやって以来また今年の新年号もゴジラ特集である。それもそのはず、 新作ゴジラにむけて特集にしたのである。そこで 今回は、バンダイから発売になった初代ゴジラを製作して見ることになった。前回には、350分の1でモスゴジが発売になっていたが、これはモールドもあまいし、プロポーション的にも、あまりよくない物だったのだが、この 1/250の初代ゴジラは、モールドもよく、プロポーションも、ただの立ちポーズではなくてどくとくなゴジラポーズであり、原型は速水氏の物である。それにゴジラだけでなく、ベ ースとバックのビルが付いている。そして、この初代ゴジラは、生産が今回かぎりであるので、まだ手にしていないモデラー諸君も、おはやめに。さてさて製作の方だが、この初代ゴジラは、ほかにもライターが製作するので、ただキットの物を組むだけでは、 おもしろくないので、プラモデルのコンバットジョータイプにしてしまった。ぬいぐるみのサイズにするとこのゴジラは、12分の1のスケー ルぐらいになるので、人形は、タミヤのフェアレディーZラリー用の人形を使いゴジラを着せて見た。まずゴジラは全体に組み、小型のガスバーナーであぶり、ぬいだような感じに、頭をおりまげる。背ビレは、写真などを見て見ると、右側に、なっていたので、右側に接着する。人形は、ドライバーなので、手がハンドルをにぎっているポーズなのでX-ACTOノコでカットし、エポキシパテで、手をひろげる。さてゴジラのカラーリングは、全体にフラントブラックのスプレーを塗り、その上から、グレー、 暗いグリーン、 明るいグリーンなどでドライブラシをかさねて、 背ビレは、シルバーでドライブラシをする。人形は、頭に日本タオルをまき、白のゴジラ T シャツを着ていて、日本人らしく塗装する。

Since the January 1984 issue, this year’s New Year’s issue will also feature Godzilla. Little wonder, it was a special feature for the new Godzilla. Therefore, this time, I decided to make and see the first Godzilla released by Bandai. Last time, Godzilla was on sale at 1/350, but this was not very good in terms of mold and proportions, but this 1/250 original Godzilla has a good mold and proportions, not just a standing pose, but a peculiar Godzilla pose, and the prototype is Mr. Hayami’s.

It has not only Godzilla but base and back building attached as well. And since the production of this first Godzilla will be limited to this time, modelers who haven’t got their hands on it yet, don’t wait. As for the production, this first generation Godzilla was also produced by other writers, so it was not interesting to just build a kit, so I made it a plastic model Combat Joe type. This Godzilla would be about 1/12th scale, so I used Tamiya’s Fairlady Z Rally doll and put Godzilla on it. First, Godzilla is assembled as a whole, heated with a small gas burner, and his head is bent as if it had been sewn. The dorsal fin was on the right side when I looked at the photo, so I glued it on the right side. Since the doll is a driver with its hand holding a steering wheel, I cut it with an X-ACTO saw and spread out its hand with epoxy putty. For the coloring of Godzilla, I sprayed “flat” black on the whole, then dry brush with gray, dark green, bright green, etc., and then dry brush the dorsal fin with silver. The doll has a Japanese towel wrapped around its head, a white Godzilla T-shirt, and is painted to look Japanese.

ビル側のディオラマは、ビルも大小あるの で、 Nゲージのビルを使かってディオラマに し、道路とビルを取り付ける前にグレーのス プレーをしビルを付けたら暗いグレーと明る いグレーでエアーブラシをし、 ダークイエロ っぽい色でドライブラシをし、その上に、Nゲージの自動車や、ビルのガレキや、パウ ダーをまいて、映画の場面を作る。 Nゲージ用のビルディングも、取り付ける時に、エナメル系のフラットブラックで、スミ入れをす る。

For the diorama on the building side, the buildings are large and small, so I used an N-gauge building to make a diorama, and before attaching the road and building, I sprayed gray, and after attaching the building, I airbrushed with dark gray and light gray. Then I drybrushed it with a dark yellow color, and then sprinkled the N-gauge automobiles, rubble from buildings, and powder on top to create a scene from a movie. The N gauge building is also inked with enamel flat black when installed.
