Last Days and Counting

Early Sunday morning I will be on my way to see Godzilla Minus One. But there’s still much going on. The new Jet Jaguar suit and short film was teased last night. And Godzilla directors Takashi Yamazaki and Hideaki Anno had a talk show at Ikebukuro Humax Cinemas last night along with a showing of Shin Godzilla Ortho (2016). Director Anno said, “Regarding the completed “Godzilla-1.0,” it was well made. It brings together all the technical capabilities we have cultivated up to now, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is the culmination of Mr. Yamazaki’s work.” He also said, “It is full of a lot of tsukkomi” [“including everything​”]. This is exciting to hear going into this weekend of travel. Next up is the next episode of Godzilla Store TV midnight on Sunday.

I have one big issue left to resolve. I need comfortable footwear. I don’t want to risk wearing the shoes I wore last March. The pair I bought over the summer are now too tight to take on the trip. But a new pair arrived this afternoon. This new pair fit perfectly and feel great. My toes are not crammed and I can cross them. I feel confident that I found the right footwear. I’ll stash some insoles just in case. Feet don’t fail me now.

My bags are just waiting for my small back to dock. My itinerary is taking its final shape. The new short “Jet Jaguar Operation” looks amazing. Godzilla day is going to be so busy. The final countdown has begun to Godzilla Minus One. Japan, here I come.
