Kazuzo Kobayashi is the parent who raised the “Godzilla” series!

1954年、記念すべき「ゴジラ」シリーズの映画第1作目が公開されました。巨大な怪獣が戦後の東京に現れるその姿に観客は大いに驚き、映画は空前の大ヒットとなりました。このような『ゴジラ』の興行的大成功を受けて、当時、東宝株式会社の社長を務めていた小林一三は、シリーズ化となる続編(大阪を舞台にした『ゴジラの逆襲』)の製作を後押ししたと言われております。今や「ゴジラ」は世界的に人気のあるキャラクターとなっており、2023年11月3日(金・祝)には山崎貴監督による『ゴジラ-1.0』が公開予定です。

In 1954, the first film in the memorable “Godzilla” series was released. Audiences were greatly surprised by the sight of a giant monster appearing in post-war Tokyo, and the movie became an unprecedented hit. In response to the commercial success of Godzilla, Kazuzo Kobayashi, who was the president of Toho Corporation at the time, decided to produce a sequel to the series (Godzilla Raids Again, set in Osaka). “Godzilla” has now become a globally popular character, and “Godzilla-1.0” directed by Takashi Yamazaki is scheduled to be released on Friday, November 3, 2023 (holiday).
