Searching for Godzilla merchandise on Buyee.jp can be dangerous to your wallet but very fulfilling to that insatiable desire for more and more stuff. I love the great feelings of nostalgia I get when having the old showa and heisei Godzilla era books and other print material. After winning a bid on an Popy Kuru Kuru Terebi cartridge, a set of authentic Godzilla movie ticket stubs (映画半券) caught my eye and my hands immediately snatched them up. These are a dream come true. I have a collection of Shin Godzilla movie tickets but nothing more. This set is amazing spacing decades of Godzilla movies! Take a look at what is included: Godzilla 1984 (ゴジラ 1984年), Shin Godzilla (シン・ゴジラ), Godzilla 2000 (ゴジラ 2000), Godzilla x Megagirasu (ゴジラ×メガギラス)、Godzilla vs Space Godzilla (ゴジラVSスペースゴジラ), Godzilla vs Destoroyah (ゴジラVSデストロイヤ), and Godzilla Final Wars (ゴジラファイナルウォーズ). On my first trip to Japan in 1994, I saw Godzilla vs Space Godzilla but my movie stubs were the ordinary white small stubs. So it is especially great to now have that ticket in this set.

These are beautiful ticket stubs. Most reproduce the theatre movie poster art with its iconic movie title typography. Below is the list of cast and staff. Most have the characteristic Toho wafer like white seal in the lower right corner that is split when the ticket is torn off. “Special advanced ticket” (特別前売券) appears on most. These tickets can be purchased online and at convenient stores.

Six have a portrait orientation and two landscape. This set was very inexpensive (about $20). It was more expensive to have them shipped from the Buyee warehouse. But it was so worth it to score these. It’s wonderful to have pieces of Godzilla history.
