【ロサンゼルス=木村直子、後藤香代】第96回米アカデミー賞の発表・授賞式が10日(日本時間11日)、ロサンゼルスで行われ、山崎貴監督(59)の「ゴジラ-1.0 (マイナスワン)」が視覚効果賞、宮崎駿監督(83)の「君たちはどう生きるか」が長編アニメーション賞を受賞した。原子爆弾の開発を主導した科学者が主人公のクリストファー・ノーラン監督の米映画「オッペンハイマー」は作品賞、監督賞など計7部門を制した。

[Los Angeles = Naoko Kimura, Kayo Goto] The announcement and award ceremony of the 96th Academy Awards was held in Los Angeles on the 10th (11th Japan time), and director Takashi Yamazaki (59)’s “Godzilla -1.0 (Minus One)” won the Visual Effects Award, and “How Do You Live?” directed by Hayao Miyazaki (83) won the Best Animated Feature Award. The American film “Oppenheimer,”directed by Christopher Nolan, whose main character is a scientist who led the development of the atomic bomb, won a total of seven categories, including Best Picture and Best Director.


The first double win for a Japanese film at the Academy Awards was in 2009, when “The Gift” won the Best Foreign Language Film Award. Director Yamazaki, who attended the award ceremony, said, “To all of you who aspire to work in VFX (visual effects) far from here, Hollywood has proven to you that you too have the right to take on the challenge.”


“Godzilla-1.0” became the first Japanese film to win the Visual Effects Award.
