三日は節分、芸能界でも東西で豆まきの行事でにぎわった。東京では、世田谷の東宝撮影所に近くの小学校一年生を招き、怪獣へドラへの豆まきで公害意?を盛り上げれは、大阪では中堅に出演中の藤山寓美が道頓堀の真ん中にくり出豆とともに福引き券やタオルなどをばらまいて「お客はウチへ!」と商魂たくましい『節分会”がとび出してきた。

The third day was Setsubun, and the entertainment world was busy with bean-throwing events in both the east and the west. In Tokyo, first graders from nearby elementary schools were invited to the Toho Studio Studio in Setagaya to raise awareness of pollution by throwing beans at the monster Hedorah, and in Osaka, Gemi Fujiyama, who is currently appearing in a mid-career role, threw a bean in the middle of Dotonbori. At the same time, “Setsubun-kai” with a strong commercial spirit started popping up, distributing lottery tickets and towels and saying, “Customers, come to us!”

○･･･「公出ていけー!」「へドラ出ていけー!」と東宝撮影所で黄色い声を張り上げる『年男は、赤いハチマキにタスキをかけカゴジラと、地元の砧小学校一年生の児童三百人。ゴジラ俳優十七年の中島春雄夫人が同校のPTA役員をしているところから、振影中の東宝「ゴジラ対ヘドラ」(監督坂野義光)のPRと公害撲滅運動をかねて行なわれたもの。

○…”Get out of here!” “Get out of Hedorah!” yells a yellow voice at the Toho studio. 300 children. Haruo Nakajima, the wife of Godzilla actor Haruo Nakajima, who is 17 years old, is a PTA officer at the school, and the project was used to promote Toho’s “Godzilla vs. Hedorah” (directed by Yoshimitsu Banno), which was currently being filmed, and to campaign against pollution.

○…午的十一時から先生に引率されてセット見学。坂野監督に「ヘドラは静岡県・田子の浦のへドロと、光化学スモッグから生まれたという想定の公害怪獣です」と説明をうけたよい子たちは、たちまち憎悪をへドラに集中。豆まき開始とともに「ヘドラ、死んじまえ」「エイッー」といっせいに豆を投げはじめ、三十分の予定で用意した二年(0.0364以)の豆を十分でまきつくしてしまった。エキサイトした子供たちのなかには、ヘドラに組みつく女の子も出現、このハプニングにあわててヘドラがグロッギーのま一されてセット見学。坂野監督に一ねをするというひと幕もあった

Director Banno explains, “Hedorah is a pollution monster that was born from the sludge and photochemical smog of Tagonoura in Shizuoka Prefecture,” and the good kids immediately focused their hatred on Hedorah. As soon as the bean-throwing began, they started throwing beans all at once, shouting “Hedorah, die” and “Ah!,” and ended up using up the two-year-old beans (0.0364 and above) that they had prepared for 30 minutes. Among the excited children, a girl appears who grapples with Hedorah, and in a panic, Hedorah transforms into a groggy mess and tours the set. There was also a scene where he had a crush on director Banno.
