Pieces of Film

12.7.2020

Many of my friends know how much I love Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla (1974). MechaGodzilla is my favorite Godzilla rival as he is for many fans. I’ve compiled many collectibles related to this movie over the years. My first Bandai figure was indeed MechaGodzilla back in 1984. This year, X-Plus released the Gigantic MechaGodzilla 1974. I proudly display it besides my desk. A couple months ago, I learned about the KuruKuro Terevi player. When I saw there was a Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla cassette released for it, I just had to have it. After an extensive search, I got it. Something even better happen, I won nine Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 35mm film strips, each with five frames (35mmフィルム 9種×5コマ 東宝特撮 「ゴジラ対メカゴジラ」 ③ 1975年) on Buyee Japan. These portions of film were used for the opening of the English version of Terror of MechaGodzilla (メカゴジラの逆襲) released in 1975. One strip has Godzilla’s second appearance to take on MechaGodzilla on Okinawa. I’m ecstatic about have a pieces of my favorite Showa Godzilla film.
