ゴジラと共に、東宝大プールもこの作品を最後に取り壊しが決定した。60年に作られて以来、東宝スタジオの顔として、ゴジラをはじめとする特撮映画のみならず、戦記物や文芸大作まで数かずの名場面を生み出してきた東宝大プール。熱海城からキングゴングと共にゴジラが落下した海、ゴジラを海中に沈め、双子のモスラが泳ぎ去った海メカゴジラIIを破壊し去っていくゴジラの夕景の海……。ゴジラ映画のラストシーンのほとんどがこの大プールで撮影されている。

Since it was created in 1960, the Toho Big Pool has produced countless famous scenes not only for special effects movies such as Godzilla, but also for war memorials and literary masterpieces as the face of Toho Studio. The sea where Godzilla fell from Atami Castle with King Gong, the sea of ​​Godzilla’s evening view where Godzilla was submerged in the sea and the sea in Mechagodzilla II where the twin Mothra swam away was destroyed. Most of the last scenes of Godzilla movies were shot in this large pool.

04年9月7日は、この大プールで行われる最後の撮影となった。このシーンはやはり、戦いを終え海に帰っていくゴジラとミニラのラストカット。台風が接近のため天候が安定しない中、東宝大プールがら生み出される最後の名シーンがフィルムに収められていった。

September 7, 2004 was the last shoot for this large pool. After all, this scene is the last cut of Godzilla and Minya returning to the sea after the battle. While the weather was not stable due to the approaching typhoon, the last famous scene created by the Toho Big Pool was recorded in the film.
