昨年、製作が発表された「ゴジラ」シリーズの新作映画が「ゴジラー1.0」(ゴジラマイナスワン、11月3日公開)のタイトルで、戦後の日本を舞台にしていることが1日、分かった。「戦後、日本。無(ゼロ)から負(マイナス)へ。」というキャッチコピが添えられ、シリーズ史上最悪の状況下でのゴジラ襲来が描かれるという。「シン・ゴジラ」(16年公開)以来、7年ぶりで、日本製作の実写としては1954年の初代から数えて30作目となる新ゴジラ。ビジュアルも解禁され、焼け野原となった戦後の東京で暴れ回る姿が映し出されている。

It was revealed on the 1st that the new movie of the “Godzilla” series, whose production was announced last year, will be titled “Godzilla 1.0” (Godzilla Minus One, released on November 3rd) and will be set in post-war Japan. “Post-war Japan. From nothing (zero) to negative (minus).” Seven years after “Shin Godzilla” (released in 2016), the new Godzilla will be the 30th production from the first generation in 1954 as a live-action film made in Japan. The visual has also been lifted, and it shows the rampage in post-war Tokyo, which has become a burnt field.

監督・脚本・VFXを担当する山崎貴氏は「ALWAYS 三丁目の夕日」シリーズで昭和の下町を再現し、「永遠の0」「アルキメデスの大戦」で太平洋戦争を活写。

Takashi Yamazaki, who is in charge of direction, screenplay, and VFX, recreated the downtown area of Showa in the “ALWAYS Sunset on Third Street” series, and vividly depicted the Pacific War in “Eternal Zero” and “The Great War of Archimedes.”

本作に向けて「僕が今まで作ってきた映画の集大成になっていると思います」と自信を見せる。目指したのは「最恐のゴジラ」。すでに1月1日に北米公開されることも決定しており「かつてない絶望を与える存在を描く。怖』そのものが歩いてくるかのように見えるゴジラの姿と、絶望に絶望を塗り重ねるような設定をスタッフ共々作り上げてきました」とゴジラ史に残る悪夢を世界に届ける。

“I think it’s the culmination of the movies I’ve made so far,” he said confidently.
