Godzilla moves behind the Hibiya district and approaches the front gate of the National Diet Building, the symbol of Japan. Perhaps sensing that the central tower was in the way, they changed course to the right and destroyed the House of Councilors before passing through. (Using recent photos for clarity)

決死の中継を行うラジオアナウンサーが運命を共にした塔は、NHK千代田放送所(現・千代田放送会館)のテレビ塔がモデルで、高さは178メートルだった。東京タワーが建つのは1958年。54年当時はひときわ高い建築物だった。

The tower where the radio announcer shared his fate while making a desperate broadcast was modeled after the TV tower of NHK Chiyoda Broadcasting Station (currently Chiyoda Broadcasting Hall) and was 178 meters high. Tokyo Tower was built in 1958. In 1954, it was an extremely tall building.
