DesuGoji is the fifth installment of my project to recreate each Godzilla theatrical movie poster. Godzilla vs Destroyah (ゴジラ対デストロイア) brought the Heisei Godzilla era to a climatic end with the meltdown of Godzilla. Each of the Heisei posters came in two varieties, illustrated and photographic. With the arrival of my X-Plus Gigantic Series Godzilla 1995, what poster to remake next was easy.

Recreating this poster was not without its challenges. First, there is no X-Plus Destroyah PVC figure for me to shoot. And I still don’t have the SH Monster Arts Destroyah. I had to go with what I had, the Bandai version, and it turned out okay. The biggest challenge was recreating the smoke arising from Godzilla’s body. In the end, I decided to use the smoke and fire from the original poster along with random puffs of smoke. The Hong Kong skyline was an easy find on Google images. I enjoy recreating the title, teasers, and credits the most. It’s the finishing touch on the poster. Below is my poster followed by the original for comparison.
