着ぐるみの圧迫感が夢に出た

I dreamed of the oppressive feeling of wearing a costume

当時は学生運動が激しい時代で、通っていた大学 の休校が多かったので、スーツアクターのアルバイトをしたのが、この世界に入るきっかけでした。『流 星人間ゾーン』(73年)では、ゲスト怪獣のゴジラやキングギドラを演じ、引き続いて声をかけてくれたのが川北紘一)さんか久須美(護)さんだった か忘れましたが、そのときの経験をベースに、『ゴジラ対メカゴジラ』では主役のゴジラを担当しました。演じるにあたっては、自ら大声を出したりしましたが、着ぐるみの背中のチャックを閉められるとものすごく圧迫感があって、これは演じた者にしかわからないと思いますが、時々、今でも夢に見ることがありますね(苦笑)。自分の青春時代に一番すごいことをやったのが、このゴジラ役でしたね。

At the time, there was a lot of student activism, and many of the schools I attended were closed, so I got a part-time job as a suit actor and that was my chance to enter this world. In “Meteor Man Zone” (1973), I played the guest monsters Godzilla and King Ghidorah. Based on my experience at that time, I was in charge of the main character Godzilla in “Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla.” When performing, I yelled out myself, but when the zipper on the back of the costume was closed, there was a tremendous amount of pressure. It was this Godzilla role that did the most amazing thing in my youth.

ずしいさお……1950年、神奈川県出身。スーツアクターのアルバイトで「流星人間ゾーン』(73年)のゲスト怪獣、『ゴジラ対メカゴジラ』ではゴジラを演じた。

Sushiisao: Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1950. He worked part-time as a suit actor and played a guest monster in “Meteor Man Zone” (1973) and Godzilla in “Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla.”
