今年最大の注目映画といえば12年ぶりの日本版となる「シン・ゴジラ」。7月29日の公 開以来、4日間で10億円超の興収を記録するなど早くも大ヒットの兆しだが、終盤のクライマックスに山形の「働く「車」が登場している!? その車はコンクリート圧送業のヤマコン(山形市)が保有する真っ赤なコンクリートポンプ車。本来は長いアームで高層ビルなどの建設現場に生コンを注入するための重機だが、映画では東京を壊滅から救うため、ゴジラの口に血液凝固剤を流し込む役割を担う。

The most notable movie of the year is “Shin Godzilla,” the first Japanese version in 12 years. Since its release on July 29, it has already recorded box office revenue of over 1 billion yen in four days, and it is already a sign of a big hit. The car is a bright red concrete pump truck owned by Yamacon (Yamagata City), a concrete pumping company. Originally, it was a heavy machine with a long arm to inject ready-mixed concrete into construction sites such as skyscrapers, but in the movie, it plays the role of pouring blood coagulant into Godzilla’s mouth in order to save Tokyo from destruction.

コンクリートポンプ車を登場させるのは樋口真嗣監督の発案とか。福島第1原発1号機の使用済み燃料プールへの注水にコンクリートポンプ車が使われ た「キリン作戦」にヒントを得て、国内最大の保有台数を誇るヤマコンにレンタルを要請したという。

Director Shinji Higuchi came up with the idea of making a concrete pump truck appear. Inspired by the operation Kirin, in which a concrete pump truck was used to inject water into the spent fuel pool at Unit 1 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, it is said that Yamacon, which boasts the largest number of vehicles in Japan, requested a rental.

同社の佐藤隆彦社長は「話 題の映画の重要なシーンに使っていただき感無量」と悦に入っている。

The president of the company, Takahiko Sato, is delighted, saying, “I am overwhelmed by the fact that the camera has been used in an important scene in a much-talked-about movie.”
