「ゴジラ対ガイガンキングギドラの大逆襲』は、関沢新一が手掛けた「地球攻撃命ゴジラ対ガイガン」の準備段階の検討稿で、基本的なストーリーラインは完成作品に準じている。完成作品との主な相違点は、馬渕版と同様に新宇宙怪獣メガロが現れること。また、東宝チャンピオンまつりの東宝新作では、結局出演の機会が一度も得られなかったモスラも、幼虫の姿で登場。その他、異変を察知したアンギラスがゴジラ・タワーに体当たりしたり、山野市に調査に向かうのが高杉とマチコのニ人である点も異なる。テーマとなった公害問題にも完成作品よりももう一歩踏み込んでおり、エンディングでは主題歌ではなく、ゴジラの映像にダブって交通&公害問題が提起されるのは、ひょっとすると前作「ゴジラ対ヘドラ』の影響であろうか。

“Godzilla vs. Gigan: King Ghidorah’s Great Counterattack” is a preliminary draft of Shinichi Sekizawa’s “Earth Attack Life Godzilla vs. Gigan,” and the basic story line is based on the completed work. The main difference from the completed work is the appearance of the new space monster Megalon, just like in the Mabuchi version. Also, in the Toho new work at the Toho Champion Festival, Mothra, who never got the chance to appear, also appeared in the form of a larva. In addition, it is also different that Anguirus, who sensed an incident, hits Godzilla Tower, and Takasugi and Machiko head to Yamano City to investigate. The pollution problem, which was the theme, is one step further than the completed work, and the traffic and pollution problems are raised by dubbing Godzilla’s video instead of the theme song in the ending, which may be similar to the previous work “Godzilla vs. Hedorah.”

なお、本稿以前に書かれた最初の検討稿では、こちらはゴジラ、ラドン、バランの3大地球怪獣と、キングギドラ、ガイガン、新怪獣モグの3大宇宙怪獣の、これまた総勢6匹が登場、激闘を繰り広げる豪華かつ異色の顔合わせのものとなっている。
