Yesterday we learn of the passing of our beloved “Controller” Yoshio Tsuchiya 土屋嘉男 (May 18, 1927 – February 8, 2017). He left his signature on both the Showa and Heisei eras portraying memorable characters from the Planet X Controller in Invasion of the Astro Monster to his role as Shindo, the World War II veteran, in Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. He has an extensive credit list in film and television. I can never forget his role as Dr. Morita in Ultraman episode 18. He will be missed but never forgotten. We are grateful for him and his body of work. Prayers and condolences. RIP.
