I decide to rummage through my Godzilla video tape collection and I thought this would be fun to share. This is what it was like growing up in the 80s living Philadelphia and watching Godzilla on Channel 29’s Theater Bizarre. The recording was probably made in 1984 around the time Galoob’s toy truck ‘The Animal’ was released. The clip below is the epic opening prologue of the Terror of Mechagodzilla. There was nothing like Channel 48’s Creature Double Feature. Watch the opening of Godzilla vs The Smog Monster below. Every Saturday afternoon was an event in my life growing up Godzilla.
