東京・日比谷のオフィス街のど真ん中、日比谷シティーに2日午後、5階建てビルはどもある巨大な〝ゴジラ・バルーン”=写真=が登場、道行く人を驚かせた。

In the middle of the business district of Hibiya, Tokyo, on the afternoon of the 2nd, a huge “Godzilla balloon” (photograph) with five-story buildings appeared in Hibiya City, surprising passers-by.

身長15メートル、頭の先からしっぽの先まで30メートル、足のサイズ3メートル30センチ。正月映画「ゴジラVSビオランテ」(監督大森一樹)を1月16日に公開する東宝が、米サンディエゴのメーカーに特別注文して作らせた。素材はビニール・コーティングしたナイロンで、2台の小型コンプレッサーで空気を送り込む。製作費は1500万円という。

15 meters tall, 30 meters from head to tail, feet 3 meters 30 centimeters. Toho, which will release the New Year’s movie “Godzilla vs. Biollante” (directed by Kazuki Omori) on January 16th, made a special order to a manufacturer in San Diego, USA. The material is vinyl-coated nylon, and air is fed in by two small compressors. The production cost is said to be 15 million yen.
