『ゴジラ」(54年)でデビューを飾った、驚異の怪獣王。相次ぐ 水爆実験の影響で海底から甦ったジュラ紀の恐竜の一種で、東 京に上陸して一夜にして帝都を廃墟と化した。 本作では、化学 者の芹沢博士が発明した水中酸素破壊剤、オキシジェン・デストロイヤーの使用により、東京湾の海底に葬られた。 なお『ゴジラファイナルウォーズ」 では、初代ゴジラが死滅せず、そのまま生存していた設定になっている。

The amazing king of the monsters who made his debut with “Godzilla” (1954). A type of Jurassic dinosaur that has revived from the seabed due to the effects of a series of hydrogen bomb experiments. It landed in Tokyo and turned the imperial capital into a ruin overnight. In this work, he was buried on the seabed of Tokyo Bay by using Oxygen Destroyer, an underwater oxygen destroyer invented by chemist Dr. Serizawa. In “Godzilla Final Wars,” the original Godzilla did not die and was set to survive as it was.
