Everyday I become more endeared to Godzilla 1984. The soundtrack has been captivating and a daily replay. There is one track that I never get tired of hearing, さよならの恋人 (Goodbye Lover) by Yasuko Sawaguchi. Another favorite is The Godzilla Love Theme by the Star Sisters.

I’m always trying to improve my Japanese and there’s no better way than learning the lyrics for your favorite Japanese music. So I set out to find the lyrics to Goodbye Lover, but they were not to be found other than a small image which was barely readable. So I’ve done by best to transcribe the Japanese lyrics. There are a few words that remain uncertain.
