Another walk and another collectible shop. There are so many in Nagoya. There was an antique top shop that I spotted but it was never open. Well this weekend it was open. The shop was big enough for only 2-1/2 people at time. But it was loaded and filled with vintage Japanese toys. There were select Godzilla items, one of which I could not leave behind. The truth is that any item, toy or book, with references to Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla (1974-5) I’ve gotta have it.
I love old Godzilla books because they would have been published at the time I was growing up with Godzilla in the States. This book is an elongated paperback flip book entitled “ゴジラ対大怪獣決戦ワイドブック(Gojira tai dai kaijū kessen waido bukku, Godzilla vs Monsters Battle Wide Book). It is a テレビマガジン５月号ふろく(Terebi magajin 5 tsuki-gō furo ku, TV Magazine May Edition). Here is the front and back cover with sample inside pages:
