Yesterday was a big box daze when one heck of a big bad monster showed up in a big bad box from BigBadToyStore. This was a big buy with no regrets. What was inside, the Kaiyodo MEGA SOFVI Godzilla vs. Destoroyah Godzilla (1995) 哥斯拉 (1995) (海洋堂 MEGA SOFUBI ゴジラVSデストロイア ゴジラ1995 哥斯拉 1995), does not disappoint and has blown me away. I really wanted it at the time of its release in December 2024. And since then it has been expensive and increased in value and price. I had deep regrets every time I came across it online. I loved its intensity, snarl and teeth so much that I promised myself that I would get it if it ever became available again. And a few days ago it popped up on BigBadToys.com discounted 20% down from $1,014.99 to $811.99. I stopped everything I was doing and started figuring out how I could buy it. And less than a week later FedEx had it at my door. Unbox and in hand, Godzilla is every bit as impressive as its photos. DesuGoji never looked so good. Godzilla is a non-articulated figure made of PVC and PU.

The Kaiyodo MEGA SOFVI Godzilla 1995 is a towering 42 cm in height and 45 in length rivaling my X-Plus Gigantic DesuGoji. There’s nothing not to like about this monster. From head to toe to the tip of its tail Godzilla is beautifully sculptured and stylized like the Noriyoshi Ohrai Godzilla vs Destoroyah theatrical poster. The powerful pose, open hands and upward gaze capture the poster so well. The eyes are focused, teeth are sharp and the tongue is wet. Godzilla’s melted parts are ready to light up. From head to toe Godzilla is impressive. The dorsal fins are perfect and I love how the burning clear dorsals fade into the lower ones. The paint application is excellent. The fangs, claws and toes are clean and done so well. The tail is long, swirling up from the left to the right. I can’t stop gazing at it. This DesuGoji looks amazing at every angle. The photos don’t do it justice. Kaiyodo makes beautiful figures. This release is right up there with my Kaiyodo Shin Godzilla. It’s impressive in hand, light-weight and easy to handle.

The MEGA SOFVI Godzilla 1995 was sculpted by RYO known by the alias Nendo Seijin (ねんど星人). Rio is a freelance sculptor and modeler. He relies almost exclusively on ZBrush for his sculpting work. He specializes in the creation of figures depicting kaiju, dinosaurs, monsters and animals. RYO-san work can be found at Wonder Festival. He has sculpted prototypes for numerous kaiju. If you plan to track one down for yourself, you will not be disappointed. There’s no need to attach the tail. Godzilla arrives fully assembled, snuggled inside a styrofoam coffin fitting for a dying Godzilla. This big guy comes in a big box designed on all panels, even the box of the bottom. This is a gigantic Godzilla to have in the collection. If you love DesuGoji this is one for you.
