S-61 Mechagodzilla Appears

準備稿ではにせゴジラがメカゴジラの正体を現すのは後半の沖縄だったが、決定稿で前半の本物のゴジラとの初対決時に変更された。このコンテは川北紘一助監督の使用コンテで、「目、MGマーク、手、ひざ、足元、口」と、メカゴジラの各パーツを寄りで見せるインサートは川北助監督のアイデアで追加された。

In the preparatory draft, Godzilla reveals the true identity of Mechagodzilla in the latter half of Okinawa, but in the final draft it was changed at the time of the first confrontation with the real Godzilla in the first half. This storyboard was used by Director Koichi Kawakita, and an insert that shows each part of Mechagodzilla closer to “eyes, MG mark, hands, knees, feet, mouth” was added by Director Kawakita’s idea.
