富士山を背に戦い続けるゴジラとラドンを稜線越しに捉えた合成カットの実景素材は、芦ノ湖の元箱根港付近で撮影された。完成画面をよく見ると、湖上にそびえる平和の鳥居が右端に映っているのが確認できる。現地では実際に鳥居と富士山を同一フレームに収めることができるが、完成画面と同等の画角を確保すると富士山は小さくなってしまう。しかし、そこは映画のウソで、ホリゾントいっぱいに描かれた富士山(50ページ参照)が強烈なインパクトを生み出している。

The composite footage of Godzilla and Rodan continuing to fight with Mt. Fuji in the background was shot near Moto-Hakone Port on Lake Ashi. If you look closely at the completed screen, you can see the Heiwa Torii towering over the lake reflected in the far right. At the site, it is actually possible to fit the torii gate and Mt. Fuji in the same frame, but if you secure the same angle of view as the completed screen, Mt. Fuji will be smaller. However, this is a lie in the movie, and the depiction of Mt. Fuji (see page 50), which fills the entire horizon, creates a strong impact.
