Today, Godzilla 2014 was released on iTunes. It came out early and I would have missed the release if I had not gone to iTunes. At first I thought it was a mistake. It appeared to be in demand because the download was slower than usual.
Today, I also received Gigantis the Fire Monster and King Kong vs. Godzilla DVDs in the mail today. With their arrival my Godzilla Showa Era DVD series is complete. Up until now it was complete in an eclectic kind of way. I had the complete Showa Era movies between DVDs and old video cassettes. If I was pressed, I watch any Godzilla movie on demand with support from my iTunes collection. But now I have at least every Showa Era movie on DVD. I do have a small collection of original Japanese releases on DVD. But I didn’t have a complete set of America released DVDs. Except for the Son of God (pictured here) is the original Japanese version I purchased from Mike Temple at the Chiller in NJ some years ago. The Son of Godzilla is hard to come by without putting up more bucks than usual. But I found it along with Godzilla Returns and Godzilla vs. Biollante on Sumogorilla.com. They are on their way.
