華やかな琉球王国時代の記憶を､ 現代に伝える中城城跡。 自然の地形と岩石を巧みに利用した美しい曲線の城壁、15世紀の巧みな石積技術を目の前で見ることができます。 中城城跡は ｢琉球王国のグスク (城) 及び関連遺跡群」の 一つとして、2000年に世界遺産に登録されました。

The ruins of Nakagusuku Castle, which conveys the gorgeous memories of the Ryukyu Kingdom era to the present day. You can see the beautiful curved walls that skillfully utilize the natural terrain and rocks, and the skillful masonry technology of the 15th century. The Nakagusuku Castle Ruins was registered as a World Heritage Site in 2000 as one of the “Gusuku (castles) of the Ryukyu Kingdom and related archaeological sites.”

沖縄本島中央部東岸にある名護湾に突き出た岬。 琉球石 灰岩の段丘台地や海食崖が見られ、 名護湾を一望できる 景勝地です。 北の万座ビーチとともに沖縄海岸国定公園 の中心。 名称の由来は、 18世紀初頭、 この地を訪れた 尚敬王が 「一万人が座れる草原」 と称えたことから。 万 座毛の「毛」とは 「沖縄ことば」 で 「草原」 を意味します。

A cape protruding into Nago Bay on the east coast of the central part of the main island of Okinawa. It is a scenic spot with a panoramic view of Nago Bay, where you can see the terraced hills of Ryukyu stone ash rock and sea cliffs. The center of Okinawa Kaigan Quasi-National Park along with Manza Beach in the north. The name comes from the fact that Sho Kei, who visited this area in the early 18th century, called it “a grassland where 10,000 people can sit.” “Hair” of Manzamo means “meadow” in “Okinawa language.”
