『ジャリ』の解説 Explanation of “Jari”: Jari was originally used in theaters and yose, and refers to children’s onlookers. Later, it came to be used simply to mean children (especially boys). Like kid, it is a word often used in nuances that disregard children. When weakening such nuances or using it for girls, Jarinko with “ko” at the end is used. There are various theories about the origin. The theory is that Jari is seen by children because the gravel is smaller (finer) than stones and rocks. The theory is that gravel comes from “Sazare = fine, small” of fine stones. There is also a theory that the gathering of children who cut the buzz cut from the stage looked like gravel.
