〈第五福竜丸被曝事故>3月1日静岡県焼津港から出航した遠洋マグロ漁船第五福竜丸がビキニ環礁で行われたアメリカの水爆実験に遭遇、この実験によって発生した放射性降下物“死の灰”をあび、船員23名全員が被曝(間接被爆)してしまった。放射能汚染の不安感から魚肉の消費が落ち込むなど生活にも大きな影響を与えたのだった。
