第1作の『ゴジラ』の中で、家をつぶした後にできたくぼ地がゴジラの足跡であると山根博士は説明するが、はっきりした形は出てこなかった。ゴジラの足跡がはっきりとわかる形で出てきたのは、『キングコング対ゴジラ』である。コングとゴジラをいろいろな形で比較するため、手型ならぬ足型が作られたのである。
Dr. Yamane explains that in the first Godzilla movie, the depressions left after the house was demolished were Godzilla’s footprints, but no clear shape emerged. Godzilla’s footprints were clearly visible in “King Kong vs. Godzilla.” In order to compare Kong and Godzilla in various ways, foot prints were made instead of hand prints.
