『ゴジラ対ヘドラ』では、シリーズ初の飛行するゴジラが登場した。飛行形態のヘドラを追いかけようと､ ゴジラは尻尾 を抱え込むようにして体全体を丸め、口から放射熱線を吐いて、後ろ向きに空を飛んだ。

In “Godzilla vs. Hedorah”, the first flying Godzilla in the series appeared. In an attempt to chase after the flight form of Hedorah, Godzilla curled up with his tail in his arms, spewing radiant heat rays from his mouth, and flew backwards.

ゴジラがいかに体をまるめても、飛行力学上どう見ても飛行は不可能だが、そこはそれ、ファンタジーである。

No matter how Godzilla curls up, it is impossible to fly by any means in terms of flight dynamics, but it is a fantasy.

それに矢野研(やの・けん)にとってゴジラはスーパーマンと同じヒーローなのだから、研ちゃんの思いが込められたテレパシーを受け取れば、空を飛ぶことだって果敢に挑み、難なくやり遂げてしまう。

Moreover, for Ken Yano, Godzilla is the same hero as Superman, so if he receives telepathy with Ken-chan’s feelings, he will boldly take on the challenge of flying in the sky and accomplish it without difficulty.

或いは、研の意思=イドが理想的なゴジラを創りあげてしまったと解釈しても面白いかもしれない。

Alternatively, it may be interesting to interpret that Ken’s will = Id has created the ideal Godzilla.

The “id” is the part of the mind in which innate instinctive impulses and primary processes are manifest.

ちなみに脚本上では、ゴジラが熱線を地面に吐き、その勢いにのって大きくジャンプして後ろ向きのまま飛行形態のへドラに体当たりする展開になる。

By the way, on the script, Godzilla spits heat rays to the ground, makes a big jump with the momentum, and hits the flight form Hedorah while facing backwards.
