1 始めに
1 Getting started
1984年待望のゴジラ復活･･･
1984 Long-awaited Godzilla revival…
それから5年の月日が流れ「平成VSシリーズ」を決定づけた『ゴジラVSビオランテ』が満を持して登場。今にして思えば、それは何と大森一樹 (脚本・監督)、川北紘一(特技監督)、小林晋一郎（原案)、の《トリプル・(ワン)・リオ》と呼ぶべき、「豪華三役揃い踏み」であった。一番を意味する文字を含む名を持つ三人が集まったのだ。《三人よれば文殊の知恵》じゃないけど面白くない訳はない…はずだったんだが、何故か喉の奥に魚の小骨が引っかかったようで、妙に苛立ち、スッキリしない気分に悩まされた記憶がある。
Five years later, “Godzilla vs Biollante,” which determined the “Heisei vs series,” is finally here. Looking back on it now, I think it was a “luxury three-role set” performance that it should often been called “Triple (One) Rio” by Kazuki Omori (screenwriter/director), Koichi Kawakita (special effects director), and Shinichiro Kobayashi (draft). Three people with names containing letters that mean number one got together. It’s not “The Wisdom of Monju If Three People Gather,” but it’s not that it’s not fun… It was supposed to be, but for some reason it felt like a small fish bone got stuck in my throat, and I remember feeling strangely irritated and feeling unrefreshed. .
ハテ、それは何だったのか、どうも私にはその原因が白神博士にあるように思えてならない。という訳で、その辺りに焦点を当てて今一度じっくり振り返ってみたいと思う…。
Well, I can’t help but think that Dr. Shirakami was the cause. So, I would like to take a closer look at it, focusing on that area.

第一種警戒体制
Type 1 alert system
Gの活動が声、動きなど物理的に確認された場合。
When G’s activity is physically confirmed, such as voice, movement, etc.
第二種警戒体制
Type 2 alert system
Gの活動が物理的以外の化学、地質、された場合。
If the activity of G was chemical, geological, other than physical.
第三種警戒体制
Type 3 alert system
・Gが出現した場合。
・When G [Godzilla] appears.
第四種警戒体制
Type 4 alert system
・Gが日本のある特定地域に上陸することが確実とされた場合。
・When it is certain that G will land in a specific area in Japan.
＜国土庁特殊災害研究会議＞
ほぉ~。知らなかった。ゴジラ対策と言えば、初代ゴジラの「特設災害対策本部」を皮切りに、大体「緊急対策本部」が定番だったのに、いつの間にかこんなゴジラの段階警報が出来ていたのか。しかも、ゴジラは特殊災害扱い…。う~ん確かに特殊な災害だわなぁ。ゴジラが勝手に暴れ回るんだからなぁ。とにかく良く考えたものだ。まぁ、この発想は良しとしよう(但し、その特殊災害研究会議のゴジラ分室
Whoa. I did not know. Speaking of Godzilla countermeasures, starting with the first Godzilla’s “Special Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters,” the “Emergency Countermeasures Headquarters” was the standard, but was this Godzilla’s step-by-step warning possible? Moreover, Godzilla is treated as a special disaster… It’s certainly a special disaster. Because Godzilla goes on a rampage on his own. Well thought out anyway. そして本編スタート。話は復活ゴジラの直後、壊滅してしまった新宿の事後処理の場面から始まり、ゴジラ細胞<通称「G細胞』:GODZILLACELL>の採取合戦がスピーディに展開されていく。海で船が襲われるオーソドックスなオープニングパターンとは違うが、秘密エージェントに英語字幕が入り乱れ、ゴジラ初期黄金時代の娯楽色溢れるタッチ(『キンゴジ』『モスゴジ』『三大怪獣』『怪獣大戦争』)を思い起こさせる。「なぁ~るほど、大森監督はあの頃のゴジラ映画を撮りたい訳ね……。」などと一人ニンマリ頷いていたのだが……。
And the main story starts. Immediately after the resurrection of Godzilla, the story begins with the post-processing scene of the destroyed Shinjuku, and the battle for collecting Godzilla cells
3 白神博士登場
3 Dr. Shirakami appears
場面一転。サラジア共和国。いいねぇ定番の架空国。古くはロリシカ国、インファント島、ファロ島、セルジナ公国、レッチ島等と思い起こすだけでゾクゾクする。もうオールドファンには堪らない展開…。と思いきや、いきなりネクタイ締めようとしている高橋幸治扮する白神博士が登場。そして、沢口靖子扮する娘英理加が登場し(アチャ~、この辺りから何やらイヤ~な予感…)会話が始まる。
A change of scene. Republic of Sarazia. A classic fictional country. Just remembering the old country of Rorishika, Infant Island, Faro Island, Principality of Sergina, Letchi Island, etc. gives me chills. A development that old fans can’t stand anymore… Suddenly, Dr. Shirakami, played by Koji Takahashi, who is about to tie his necktie, appears. Then, Erika, the daughter played by Yasuko Sawaguchi, appears (Ah.., I have a bad feeling about this…) and the conversation begins.
英「こんな真夜中にどこへ?」
Erika: Where are you going in the middle of the night like this?
博「お前は寝てていいよ。さっき日本からゴジラ細胞が届いたんだ。今、電話があってすぐに凍結処理をする。」
Shiragami: You can sleep. I just received the Godzilla cells from Japan.
で、ここからが問題なのだ。このどうしょうもない日常的シーンは一体何なのだいみじくも、《凶悪植物怪獣ビオランテ》生みの親の白神博士にこんな登場はないだろう。もっとインパクトのある登場の仕方はなかったのか…? 加えて続く車の中の間の抜けた会話…。
So here’s the problem. What exactly is this hopeless everyday scene? Dr. Shirakami, the creator of (Evil Plant Monster Biollante), would never make an appearance like this. Wasn’t there a way to make a more impactful appearance…?
博「お前まで一緒に来ることなかったんだよ。」
Shiragami: “You never come with me.”
英「何言ってるの。一人じゃ何も出来ないくせに…。」
Erika: What are you talking about? You can’t do anything by yourself…
これにはマイッタ。何だかなぁ~、橋田須賀子の世間ドラマじゃないんだからさっきより輪をかけたありふれた日常の一端を見せて、一体この先どうなるのかと、興味より不安が増大してしまう。こんなんで薔薇に娘の細胞を融合し、それでも飽きずにG細胞をも注入してしまうという白神博士の常軌を逸した暴挙(快挙か?)、そしてその裏に潜む妄執や怨念や狂気が伝わってくるのか…。何か違う、イヤ絶対違う…!「ゴジビオ」全体を通して感じる何かシックリこない違和感の正体がここでハッキリと分かった。
I give up on this. I don’t know, since it’s not Sugako Hashida’s worldly drama, I’m going to show you a part of the ordinary life that’s been thrown around, and I’m more worried than curious about what will happen in the future. This is how Dr. Shirakami fuses his daughter’s cells into a rose, and even then, he injects G cells without getting tired of it. Will it come… Something’s wrong, definitely not…! Here, I can clearly see the identity of the uncomfortable feeling that I feel throughout “GojiBio.”
私は一人勝手に白神博士その人を、ビオランテを生み出したとてつもない異端の科学者(マッドサイエンティスト)として見ようとしていたのだ。それは言うまでもなく、《悪魔の発明》オキシジェン・デストロイヤーを生み出した若き天才科学者芹沢大助博士や「白石報告書」の天体物理学者白石亮一博士、そして愛娘の思考回路をメカゴジラに組み込んでしまうタイプ真船博士タイプ（どれも演じていたのは、我等が故平田昭彦氏…!)のイメージと言えば、東宝特撮ファンならそれだけでお分かり頂けるであろう…。
I was unilaterally trying to see Dr. Shirakami himself as the extraordinary heretical scientist who created Biollante. Needless to say, it is the image of Dr. Daisuke Serizawa, the young genius scientist who created the “devil’s invention” Oxygen Destroyer, Dr. Ryoichi Shiraishi, the astrophysicist of the “Shiraishi Report,” and Dr. Mafune, the type who incorporates his daughter’s thought circuit into Mechagodzilla. If you’re a Toho special effects fan, you’ll understand the image of the type (all of them were played by the late Akihiko Hirata…!).
