エンドマークが出る手前で、「そしてもう一ぴき？」の字幕が出て、ヘドロの海から水中形態のヘドラが頭部を出す。ヘドリュームはまだまだ地球のどこかに存在するだろうし、空や海は人間が吐き出した廃棄物で汚染し続けているのだから、第2、3のヘドラが登場する予感を大いに残している。これは 『ゴジラ』（54）のラストで山根恭平博士が言ったセリフ「あのゴジラが最後の一匹だとは思えない」を意識した表現である。 『ゴジラ』と 『ゴジラ対へドラ』は、作品全体のトーンは異なるものの、時代性を色濃く投影しつつ、社会風刺や文明批判などを通じて人類に警告を発するという相似的関係にある。その一つが「そしてもうーぴき？」である。 『ゴジラ対ヘドラ』の脚本の最後には、「 『ゴジラ対へドラ』第一部終り」のタイトルを出すよう記してあることからも、明らかに第2、第3のヘドラ出現を強調している（或いは、坂野監督は、ヘドラ・シリーズ第2弾を密かに目論んでいたのかも）。でも実際の映画では、このタイトルを出すことは、子供たちを含む観客に混乱をまねくおそれがあると考え、取りやめたのかもしれない。

At the end of the script of “Godzilla vs. Hedorah”, the fact that the title of “Godzilla vs. Hedorah” Part 1 is over clearly emphasizes the appearance of the second and third Hedorah (Or maybe Director Banno was secretly planning the second Hedorah series). But in the actual movie, it may have been canceled because it could be confusing to the audience, including children.
