『ゴジラ×モスラ×メカゴジラ 東京SOS』にて、ゴジラ史上とても印象深いシーンが展開される。機龍は、初代ゴジラの骨から作られた、いわばゴジラの分身とでもいうべき存在。そのマシンが、まるで「ジャイアン トロボ」の最終回よろしく、自分の意思を発動させゴジラを抱きかかえ太平洋へともに沈ま んとするその時、誤って機内に取り残された、自分を整備し続けた技術者に対しディスプレイを通して別れの言葉を贈るシーンがある。これは、機龍に搭載されているコンピュータの言葉として解釈するのが自然であろう。しかしながら、ゴジラが人間に対し初めて交流を示した、とも解釈できる不思議な余韻を残す場面だ。それは、ゴジラを支えてきたファンに対するメッセージと解釈し、胸を熱くする のもあながち間違った行為ではあるまい。
