Back to Japan

6.9.2016

When I didn’t think it would happen again, I’m headed back to Japan. And just in time for Shin Godzilla. I cannot describe the joy and excitement that comes over me when I know I’m going back to Japan. Japan is my second home. There is no other place I’d rather be. Going to Japan is a surreal experience. I never get enough nor can I ever take it all in. It’s an out of body experience.

It was my plan to return to Japan to see Shin Godzilla in the theater. Several months ago that seemed impossible. I had put it out of reach due to circumstances and situations. My work requires me to travel through Tokyo in July right in time for the release of Shin Godzilla on July 29. Even better I was able to plan a layover in Japan for little over a week. Enough time to go on another Godzilla tour to see my favorite places, shops, and people.

My trip itinerary will be packed with places to go and people to see. I’ve gotta plan every hour of the day. WonderFest is happening that week. G-Tour will be going on at the same time. And I’d like to travel through Karuizawa, Nagoya, Osaka, and Tokyo and go as far as Fukuoka to see Godzilla at the Museum. I will be expanding upon my Godzilla Guide to Japan written last year in anticipation to my trip.

During my trip I will blog everything I see about Shin Godzilla leading up to the release of the film. I plan to see the movie at least twice. Expect an extensive review! As I countdown the days until my trip and the release of Shin Godzilla my excitement level is growing. I cannot contain myself.
